PRESS RELEASE: Cosmic Cabaret Showers CSUS
Physicist Lynda Williams brings her world-famous "Cosmic Cabaret"
science lecture to California State University, Sacramento at 4 p.m.,
Thursday, April 19. The event will be in the University Union Hinde
Auditorium.
Williams' cabaret-style physics lectures have attracted a flurry of
media attention from the New York Times, the International Herald Tribune
and the San Francisco Chronicle.
According to People Magazine, "Williams puts the fizz back in physics." The
Los Angeles Time wrote, "Every scientist dreams of seducing people with the
beauty and wonder of the natural world. But few take it as far as Williams,
the Physics Chanteuse, who puts her microphone where her mouth is."
Williams, a physics and astronomy professor at San Francisco State
University and a graduate of CSUS, writes original science media and
musicals productions. She has performed for professional science
organizations including the American Physics Society and the American
Astronomical Society. She also produces a show at the San Francisco
Planetarium Museum.
William's co-owns Science Entertainment with her sister, Bergen
Williams, a screenplay writer, actress and director. Together the Williams
sisters have produced a dozen stage and media projects with scientific
themes. Their mission is to produce science media and products that are
accessible, educational and entertaining.
