Star Wars: Fact or Fantasy, October 7, 8pm
FREE! @ the SFSU Charles Hagar Planetarium

Lynda Williams and Joel Martin Kohn will peform songs and media on the issues of weapons in space and the future of space development.

We will show the video "Star Wars: Phantom Menace or Future Hope? produced by the American Defense Monitor.

Come learn and discuss the issues!

The Issues:

  • Star Wars research, development, testing and deployment is destabilizing and will lead to a new arms race
  • Star Wars development is a waste of resources and will result in more social spending cuts
  • Theatre Missile Defense (TMD) is as destabilizing as National Missile Defense (NMD) and must be opposed as U.S. moves to deploy it in the Middle East & Asia
  • Space-based laser program, now nearing a testing site decision, is the real Reagan-era Star Wars plan
  • U.S. must sign a global ban on all weapons in space
The event is held at the SF State Planetarium located in Thornton Hall, 4th floor, room 422,in the northeast corner of the SFSU campus near 19th avenue. Show time is at 8pm and will run for about 90 minutes.
